Local Municipal Survey Projects:
Public Right of Ways and Engineering Base Plans are critical to Public Works Departments. Prior to substantial infrastructure improvements, the Maine Land Surveyor will provide the limits of work and base plans for the Engineering Design. Following are some examples.
Town of Scarborough Maple Avenue- Storm Drainage
This new and improved Storm Drainage Project has been phased over several years to meet the clients budget restraints. The Existing Conditions Survey was completed over several streets in the Green Acres Subdivision, to eliminate poor drainage in both the streets and residential cellar basements. The engineers redesigned the vertical alignments together with new curbing to correct the Drainage problems.
Town of Cumberland Skillin Road- New Water Line
With the increasing pressure on residential development, the Town and P.W.D. have installed a Public Water Line to service existing and future development. The location of the Skillin Road Public Easement was necessary to ensure the new water line and the associated Pump Station were located within the limits of the Right of Way.
Town of Scarborough Route One- New Esplanade
U.S. Route One is relatively narrow in areas which made Pedestrial Traffic dangerous along the Corridor. As a result the Town had a Right of Way Survey completed, so the new Esplanade could be designed to provide a safe and efficient solution to the problem.
Town of Cumberland- Blanchard Road Full Depth Reconstruction
This old road was Surveyed and improved through an Engineering Design that allowed the Horizontal and Vertical Alignment to accommodate modern automobile speeds and traffic. Underground Utlities, Storm Drainage, Curbing, Guardrails, and a new Bike Lane were installed. This was a Locally Administered Project in conjunction with Maine Department of Transportation M.D.O.T.
Town of Scarborough- Higgins Beach Drainage Study
The recent Spring Storms along the Coast of Maine have had a serious impact on erosion of the Higgins Beach Sea Wall. An Existing Conditions Survey of the Sea Wall, the Beach, and the Ledge Outcrops was conducted to accomidate a new Improved Sea Wall Design.
